So I have a 99 GT that has the dreaded crack in the plastic Intake... tomorrow i am going to ford to have them look at it and see if there is still some way i can get them to replace it doubt it but hey worth a shot. My question for you guys is after I get told to go away and die by ford what would be my best option? What Is a PI intake? I spent a good half an hour searching the forums for a definition of that and i had no luck so i figured i would look like the noob i am and just ask...

If im gonna have to spend a couple hundred bucks on a new intake i guess i should just spend the extra money and get something that will help my car perform a little better any suggestions?

The PI (Power Improved) intake is the intake your car came with, and 96-98 GT's didn't. So, you'd basically be buying a stock part there.

Get a Kenne Bell. It'll replace your intake

No but really... I don't know anything about aftermarket intakes. Supposed to be a new one coming out or something? Supposed to be really good?

If you get a new PI intake it will be the updated one with the aluminum front coolant crossover, it will not add power but it will address a major fault with the modular cooling system.

If you want to spend the extra cash you can get the typhoon intake manifold. You might get 7-10WHP gains. Plus it's not plastic like the Ford POS.

So i was so close to the local ford dealership replacing it for me for free. then they wised up and told me that the 7 year thing was up 10 months ago :-(. So a typoon intake is good huh? about how much do they cost? yeah tried to supercharger line... the powers that be were not amused...

there is suppose to be another intake coming out soon, not sure on price or material though. it's tough to improve on the plastic intake, unless you're spraying or forced induction

I have a 2000 GT should I go and get my intake replace by ford? Now according to that 7 Year thing? I still have time. I have the Accufab Upper intake plentum, TB and a air intake. Nothing is wrong with the lower intake. I was thinking if it aint broke don't fix it kinda thing but then again there telling us it's gonna break.
