Intake Recommendation

sounds like a good canidate for an explorer or cobra intake.the heads are real nice street heads, the cam is a great tq maker and i think the above intakes will help your pocket and your combo.should make 290-310 at the wheels.

those rockers will be fine. thats what i'm still using on mine.

i'd also agree that a cobra intake would be good but if it was me, i'd go with the edelbrock performer

id of said performer if the cam was a tad rowdier.its surprising how well the performer flows.cobra or and gt40 base intake is the best bet and cheapest.all your parts are geared for a more tq street car and thats what that cam, heads and intake are gonna deliver.youll be happy with the results.

What intake would you recommend to go with the following:

Edelbrock 60379 Heads
Edelbrock.com - Cylinder Heads - Ford - Small Block - Performer

AND

Crane 444225 Cam
CraneCams

Also, would the Crane 1.7 roller rockers that came standard with the GT40 cobra heads work with this combo?

This is my daily driver so there is no plans for supercharges, nitros, etc.

Thanks for looking.

The Eddy 60379's are good heads and would work well as a street combination with the Crane 2031 cam that you've chosen. I suggest you go for the Eddy Performer (not RPM) intake as it is matched to the heads, and the longer runners compared to the RPM will promote good low rev torque. The Crane 2031 cam is designed to work with 1.7 ratio roller rockers and the Crane roller rockers will work fine as long as you order pedestal-mount heads.

Application ... Application ... Application :D

Its always about that :Word:

You did say dd :nice:
therefore
I'd have to guess you are not all that interested in .........

Pulling to 6K or so with no drop off :)

If so ... Yes ... ANY of the longest runnered (is that a word) :rlaugh:
uppers would be just dandy :spot:

Also ... I don't think that cam was setup with that in mind

Those heads however ... Well ... I'm not sure but ... Maybe
a cam with some stoutness to it and a mid length runner upper

But again ... its all about what ... YOU ... want :Word:

If Confucius didn't say it ... Well ... He shoulda ;)

All Stang Weedhoppers who modah their daily drivers .......

Mustah be careful or cam lope and the like

Make for one frustrating daily driver :bang:

Edelbrock RPMII

The car will be faster than the same combination with the Cobra. Go with the Eddy Performer at least. I'm not sure why people still mess with the Cobra or Explorer intake unless they find them cheap.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'm going to try and find a good used Edelbrock Performer to match up with the heads.

One more questions. Would a ported Edelbrock Performer be too much for a street car driven daily? Found one locally but think it would be better suited for someone who doesn't drive their car every day. What do you think?

Thanks again!!

Yai sou!! You have a PM.

a ported eddy performer would work great on the street. i dont see why not:shrug:. i like the cobra/gt40 since they are at low cost. example, 1 of my friends has a ported upper/lower gt40 w/ AFRs and made over 306rwhp and a **** load of torque like 358 lbs

Are you serious? Why do you think a ported Performer intake would be too much on the street and a out of box Performer would be good?

And he probably had to shift at 4,500rpms. Plus cam has more to do with that than intake does. I had a set of AFR 165s and a Performer (not ported) and I made 328rwhp.

If that intake has been ported properly (mainly the no.1 and 5 runners) so that the variation in airflow between runners has been reduced (out of the box it's only 5-6% anyway), it'll be even better than an unported Performer.
An unported Performer is just about even with a Cobra intake in torque production up to 4000rpm but thereafter, the Performer wins easily. The difference could be as much as 10hp at 5500+rpm.
