Intake to plenum gasket.

I have a 2002 GT. I recently purchased a TB and Plenum Assembly from Accufab.
I am going to install them this coming weekend. Of course they don't come with a new gasket for the intake to plenum assembly.
So anticipating destroying the existing gasket when removing the old TB and plenum I ordered a new one.
Well the guy calls me today and says the gasket is in, but it is not a gasket it is a O-ring.
Is this correct? Should it be a gasket or an o-ring for the intake to Plenum assembly??
Does anyone have a part number for the gasket???

its a kind of o-ring. ive taken a bunch off and never destroyed the gasket.

I am stopping down at the local Ford dealer and take a look at it.
Good to hear you haven't destroyed any of the gaskets.
But you never know.
It is only a 7.50 piece so I will get it.

If you are halfway careful you wont need a new one, I have had mine on and off twice with no problem.

Does the gasket that is on there, does it look like some type of o-ring???

Yeah it is an O-ring and it has a groove that it lays in. As long as it stays
put and does not slip out of position you will be OK

The parts guy at Ford wasn't sure and I really didn't know. He thought it was one of those flat material type gaskets.
Good to know that I am getting the right gasket/o-ring.
If I get the old one off without any damage I will save the new one for any future needs.

Here is a pic that I took from when I changed out my steering rack bushings ... the gasket was on the table apparently. Notice the big green photoshopped arrow pointing to the gasket. That is what they look like.

uhhh when I bought my PI manifold, I thought it had the plenum/manifold gasket built into it? I'm fairly certain it did anyway

Yep, rubber....gotta make sure that plaasteeek manifold stays sealed to the aluminum plenum.

BTW, DTNODYA, Couldn't help but notice the circular saw blades...was your's that hard to get of?

The part I got from Ford last night doesn't look like that at all.
The part he sold me looks like just the that blue/green colored o-ring in the inner part of the gasket.
I guess he sold me the wrong part or just the o-ring part of the gasket.
Well, I will try to remove the plenum carefully so I don't destroy the gasket.
I will bring your picture to him and see if he can find the right part.

LOL! Those damn blades haven't moved in years. I don't even know if we have the saw anymore ...

Thanks for the manifold pictures, they really helped.
What it looks like, he sold me just the o-ring that fits into that intake opening gasket, not that whole gasket assembly.
I wish I had a part number for that whole gasket so I can bring it to him.
Well, I printed out the pictures, including the one of the gasket itself and will stop by Ford tonight and show him those pictures.
I am probably being paranoid on getting a new one. Everyone I spoke to on this said in most cases it doesn't break when you take them off, but don't want to not have a replacement gasket in case I destroy the old one.
