Well I got a good deal on a cobra stage 2-ported intake. Since im going to replace the intake, what should I replace with it? Im going to install heads and cam next year. Where can I get an adapter elbow for the throttle body? The throttle body opening is 75mm.Is anyone selling a 75mm throttle body?

How hard is it installing the intake? What is the pita part, of installing the intake? Do I need any special tools?

Here are pics of the intake

I just sold my intake set-up like that...Thats a 93 Cobra set-up and WILL require many mods to run it...Including a Fox TB swap....Elbows on that year are not a direct swap like others...

Did you purchase that yet?

your better off just getting the throttle body adapter from edelbrock and installing it the way it should go. the 5 hp you'll gain from doing it 93 style aint worth all the changing over of parts you'll have to do (throttle cable, tps, idle air motor, etc.)

It;s a lot more to run the 93 cobra on our cars. Everyone forgets the cobra comes with the egr built in unlike the fox aftermarket intakes. This moves everthing a lot further so your going to have to extend the throttle cable, fab the air intake to fit it's more of a pain and not worth the $$ to make work.

wystang my thoughts exactly, that why i didn't do it. i just got rid of my cobra intake and put an edelbrock performer rpm II on with the throttle body adapter because i didn't want to deal with that mess.
95mustang-gt, you'll probably pick up about 15-20 horses.

Are you talking about the intake or the TB?

I still need to pay for the intake?Do you think I should just get something alse?I have 325 to spend.I got all winter to put it in.How much more will i have to spend to make it fit?

The guy that im getting it from, said all i need a is a throttle body adapter?

Well...Here's my take on it....If your a novice and just learning about your GT then the swap is somewhat invovled....Use the "search" and type in Explorer...you'll see lotsa post on swaps to Fox style TB set-ups...that'll give you an idea of what your up against...
I wanted the 93 style so I made it work...not rocket science, but some fab stuff involved...
If you haven't paid for it yet...a 95 Cobra swap would be mucho easy and more of a dircet swap using you same parts as your running...Its a tad more than just getting an adapter that's for sure...."search" is your friend on this one...then make your decision...The 93 Cobra is def a harder swap then say and explorer, eddy or the like...

An intake will add a noticable all around hit...mostly mid and upper...will pull harder and easier to redline no sweat instead of running outta steam a 4200 or so...Intakes not wasted when your stock, the stock lowers a bottleneck for sure...and you'll need an intake anyway...an easy a/noon install..
Cam ??? Thats a tad different...I would wait til you opened it up for heads...thats when the cam will really shine...
Got gears yet??? money well spent right there....much better than a cam at this point...

yea i got 3.73s.Well ive been looking in corral and i saw a performer intake and Trick flow R Intake for sale.I just want to get one that will not be hard on my stock heads and something that will give me a good gain.

Is the 93 cobra intake the only intake that has to be modded.

Hey rio50 thanks for all the help so far

An eddy would prolly give you more hit once your done with the H/C mods...TF is another good one also, at this point the R maybe be overkill....any intake at this point is gonna give you some hit...Its just figuring out which freakin one...

The 93 works..i liked mine....i also have no EGR/smog stuff to mess with...to run it you need to hunt up the a Fox model and pull the throttle cable&bracket...Fox TB with the IAC/TPS sensors on it...the elbow is way more work with the 93 as the holes dont line up the same...it can work thought, all you have to do is fab it with the weld/drill/tap work....
your stock STB wont fit, thats gotta go...hood clearance will be ok....dont run that 1" spacer in that pic...or you hood wont work for sure, assuming its stock...
youll have to make a CAI...mine above was homemade with purchased pcs...
As I mentioned use the search and read up...quite a few of us have done it...you can see what the skinny is and different set-ups to...
