why are you installing the intake?
what is the rest of your setup?
There are two versions of the intake- internal and external EGR
You will have to redo the vacuum lines as the ports on the Explorer are different than the Mustang
You also need to tap#5 runner for the IAT sensor and also the rear passenger pad for the EGR coolant hose.

no benefit in swapping intakes unless you want the practice.

You may have to modify the explorer tb where the linkage connects.

I'll just have my guy do the gears, instead of doing both

When I did my 93 Cobra intake on my stock engine, my SOTP meter felt like the car did pull harder above 3500 rpm

Haven't had my butt calibrated in a while though

I ran a Cobra intake with 65mm TB, 75mm Mass Air meter, and shorty headers for about a year on my car and like Mustang5L5 said I definitely felt an improvement about 3500rpm. Not Earth shattering but it still helped some.

The early ones are easy to do (the ones with the vacuum port that goes to the valve cover). The later ones can be a little more difficult as the TPS boss is higher.

I do apologize for posting something that's been covered a billion times, just got confused after everything posted....with that said, and with your link....I went out and looked at my intake I bought....the TB linkage is exactly the same as what is on my car presently.....the explorer has a spacer with no tubes coming out and thinner, and the spacer on my car has tubes and thicker....I see stuff capped off on the explorer, and, if I'm wrong tell me...the boss that needs tapped out, is present on the explorer, my conclusion is that it should just bolt on and be good?....again sorry for posting something that been covered countless times and I do appreciate all the info and help I've gotten here....if pics needed, I'll send

Looks like someone has prepped it for use on a Mustang. The spacer that usually comes on the explorer is a 90 degree elbow.

Really need pics to tell you if you are good to bolt on. Likely you are but no telling what's been chNged

The last pic shows the temp sender for the gauge, the spacer between the intake and the tb is I believe a aftermarket spacer, you can use that, that intake is not drilled for the iat sensor, you can extend the wires and put it in your intake tube but I don't recommend that, a machine shop can drill/tap the sensor hole in the boss at the #5 intake runner, shouldn't cost much, you can see where it is on the stock lower intake.

It's been prepped for intstall on the Mustang. The thin spacer is to just mount the TB linkage and you don't need to run the coolant lines to it. You just really need to relocate the ACT sensor to the air box
