I can only comment based on the posts that I have read (I don't have experience with either.) The Typhoon is a good intake if you are on a budget. It flows similar to the Performer unit but has lower quality manufacturing.

I have a Typhoon on mine. The casting is rougher on the Typhoons so it doesn't flow as well right from th box but they're just as good if not better if you have it ported. If your on a budget, I'd recommend picking one up & having it ported.

use the search............if your unable to use a die grinder well, and are not willing to pay a shop 2-300 to fix the shortcomings, spend the money on the quality piece the first time, or give up a grip of hp, and waste alotta time even installing it.

did that sound bitter?

Whether it's better than the GT40 depends on the engine parts you use and you didn't list any.

From my buddies experience it doesn't like forced induction. It will flex, whistle and leak. I don't know about a n/a car.

the polymer box will give you more top end power...great for all out drag car....but your down low torque will dissapear. The typhoon will give you a broader powerband that would more fit a street car

If your going 347 I'd be looking at the RPM Eddy intake ported, or the RPM II...typhoon is a nice piece, but will not meet your future needs IMO.

I always heard bad things about the typhoon like rough castings and what not... Why dont you just get an edelbrock or a ford racing Gt40???

Unless you are running super RPM and a wild combo- box intakes suck ass.

Less than the others in stock form for sure, but it flows just fine once the lower is ported.
