I have a top mount intercooler on my 88 T-bird motor in my 93 mustang I have a tubular header on the motor. What can I do to get the inlet temperature charge down. Im going to rap the header. I have a ram air hood that lets plenty of air in. But my intercooler is always extremely hot??

The intercooler is always hot because it is very close to the engine and doesn't really get THAT MUCH air, even with a ram-air hood. Your best bet would be to get a front mount intercooler as that is further away from the engine and a lot more air flows over it. Stinger sells a kit, as well as Spearco or you can get an FMIC unit of a older Volvo (not sure what years or models, but many have chosen this route.

I have a Big NPR intercooler on mine and in the next few weeks I intend to switch to the stinger intercooler kit as tealtiger mentioned.

What kind of header are you running? I've ben warned that stainless steel headers are more prone to cracking if the are wrapped. So I would just do a Front mount and you'll be good to go.

You can find the kit here www.stinger-performance.com and you can find my car in the My cars/Project Bolt-on section.

If you can find a Starion, it's really not hard to front mount one of them. Really, the hardest part is making a mount for it up front.

Take the existing intercooler you have and re-position it out front.

i would sell one for like 40 shipped or so just to get rid of them....stinger sells the pipes. If you dont plan on making 500hp it is a good IC im picky on my stuff and wouldnt have used it if it was junk.
