Interested in a 97-98 Cobra...

I have a stock 97 Cobra that is my daily driver. The best I ever got was 25.5mpg on a 2 lane highway doing 85 for 350 miles. I could have probably gotten a little better if I didn't have to pass every car on the road!

I have a stock '98 and get 24-25mpg on a steady cruise @ about 75mph. Mixed city and highway driving will average about 21mpg. I've seen it as low as 17, but that was with a heavy foot! Just remember that all Cobras require premium unleaded gas, which is about 20 cents more per gallon.

Way back in '96 when I had stock car I was able to get 26-28 on the hiway by keeping speed to a resonable 60-70mph. Even now with a KB, 4.10's and real big tires I can get 21-22 on the freeway. Worst I ever see in the city is 15.5 average as that is 95% of my driving now.

My modified '03 gets 25MPG on the highway. :)

U.M.

Sweet. Just to share, my 98 Formula LS1 auto would get up to 28 MPG.

Thanks for reminding me about the Premium gas. I wasn't aware of that.

My 96 is pretty much stock w/ 3.73's and I get 22-24 if I keep my foot out of it. I am almost always at 90 mph and will keep at 20 mpg.
