Interesting Throttle Body Question!

For those who don't know I have converted to a fox tb setup. My question is, is there any reason why I couldn't invert or rotate the tb 180 degrees? I know I would have to figure out the throttle cable and linkage, but besides for that, would there be any reasons I couldn't do it?

I'm not sure if I follow you Tom, but if your IAC is going to be upside down, there's a chance it will not work like it did when right-side-up. Add to that the aside that some aftermarket Fox IAC's (if applicable) have to be installed upside down to work and I can see myself going

If the throttleblade would be opening backwards too (flipped leading edge going towards the engine), I wonder if there's some dynamic there that matters since the air is coming off a bend.

As you can see, I have no clue but those are things I'd nail down or be prepared for possible issues with.

Good luck Tom.

true ...when in stalled correctly the blade opens the bottom first correct pushing the air down into the intake...if its flipped it would throw the inital air towards the top in the intake....i wonder if that could result in problems i think at lower rpm's you could get starvation problems

It won't matter. Air is air whether it comes in sideways, upside down, or right side up. It's already been metered by the MAF, thats the more important part.

How in the world could you translate blade orientation into low-rpm starvation issues? Are you suggesting that because the blade orientation is different along an axis that less air will get in? That doesn't make sense.

mounted mine like this. with the iac in this position, there was a strange noise coming from the air filter (sounded like a donkey, hehehe). we flipped the iac around to where the connection was on the bottom and the donkey noise went away and the car ran a better. guess it was on backwards. hope that helps.
