Is it possible to redo the entire interior of my 67 mustang for $1000? Upholstery, headliner, dash, etc. Just about everything. Probably not but I was curious if anyone had done it and where the parts were purchased to pull it off.

I dont think so, but it kinda depends on what your replacing, Like the instrument pannel, and trim can get pretty expensive.

You could always make a replica Trans-Am racer and leave the interior stripped and painted black

You can find several interior pieces on eBaymotors. if you went to lets say NPD a few prices are: Dash Pad $170, carpet kit $165, pillar pad $60, headliner $30, seats $120, doing it yourself priceless

I have seen several kits that are pretty complete for less than that. Check the usual parts houses and see what you can find.

Americanpony.com used to have what they referred to as "The Big Kit". which had carpet, seat upholstery, headliner and other items for around $599 if I recall.

The problem I've found with most reproducton parts on ebay is that the little bit they are cheaper you more than make up for in the cost of shipping each individual part.

Combined shipping from major parts house is your friend. Specialy ones that offer free shipping on large dollar orders such as a complete interior kit would be.

You should be able to do it for under 1000.

ebay is your friend and do as much as you can yourself and you should do it under 1000 and have some change left over.

I got a complete interior replacement kit from Laurel Mountan Mustang for my Mach 1 for $1400. It had everything. Carpet, front and rear upholstory, seat foam for the front seats, head liner, new door panels, new dash, sun shades, and more.

You should be able to get just about everything for $1g or less because the Mach 1 parts are particularly expensive ($299 for the door panels and $429 for the dash pad ($359 if you get it with the kit)) so your 67 will cost less. I am certain you can get everything for about $1G.

Go to "classic" on the left side. When the next page loads, at the top center you will see "Click here to see our kits" Click that and have a look. Lucky for you the new dash from Dashes Direct for a 67 isn't as spendy at $179 compred to $429 for as for a 69 but that is the price you pay for having a Mach 1.

Laurel Mountain is the way to go, I think i paid around $500 for a complete kit a few years back (mines a convertible). Great products, I would rather do business with them over anyone else.

Do these complete kits come with the foam for the seats?

My Mach 1 kit from LMM did not. The front seat foam for me was $98 per seat with 65-68 costing $48 each.

Hey Mo,
It is entirely possible to do for less than 1000. Your biggest headache is going to be the headliner. It is a $29 dollar part that makes you take the windows out to do it "correctly". I recently did the interior in my fiance's 66 and just left the headliner for now since I will be removing the windows for paint. We just wanted a nice driver interior because a full resto is coming up after we get married. We bought carpet, door panels, front seat covers, arm rests and pads, laquer paint for the doors, a woodgrain instrument cluster, an aplique for the glovebox, a set of kick panels with speaker holes, a black hump hugger console, and a plastic dash cover for about 550.00 from Mustangs Unlimited. You can do the seats yourself, just take your time and purchase a good set of hog ring pliers. Taking your covers off in one piece instead of just cutting them off helps alot. Then, you know how they come off so you know how they should go back on. Her car didn't get new seat buns right now because we are going to convert to pony seats. The door panels were a simple remove and re-install just make sure to pull the tabs out of the clip holes and not push them into the door panels (found out the hard way!). The dash cover was a cheap way to cover a small crack in the original dashpad. For all but the most die hard purists, it is actually a good looking piece. Fits nicely, really finishes the driver restoration. The little things make a huge difference also. If your window crank handles or door handles are too bad to be polished, invest in new ones. This was my first time working on a older model and it was a blast! Give yourself plenty of time though. Do not think that it is a weekend job. All told, it took me a month with life getting in the way here and there. It is very rewarding though because you watch it come together and know that you did it yourself.
