Interior Light Stay on!!!!!!! HELP!!!!

I just ripped down my entire engine bay. Im gonna be running carb on my new motor, so i ripped out all the computer wiring and stuff. I was very carfefull to trace all wire to their end to make sure i didnt cut anything i wasnt suppose to. I took my entire dash off, pulled out all the heater and AC stuff. Since i did all this electrical work, i was wondering if all my electronics still worked such as: headlights, blinkers, brake lights, ect. So i made a thread about how to hook up my solenoid so i could test and make sure they all still work. Well everything worked, cept for all the interor dome lights and hatch light stay on all the time. I made sure all the doors were closed and i made sure the dim switch on the dash hadnt been turned on or summin. Any ideas what else coudl be wrong. I know them push switches in the door jam might messed up, but before i ripped all the stuff out it all worked fine and this wa slike 1 week ago.. Sorry for the long thread. Thansk guys.

Well, i havnt tried do the switch manually, but i did go around and look at them and make sure they werent hung up or summin.. I looked at the hatch and i couldnt find the switch the activates the lights back there. Anyone got any pics of the switch for the hatch area, that i could check out. Thanks.

Well good news, i found that my driver side switch is messed up... The dinger was dinging when all doors were shut, so i pressed the switch in with driver door open and the lights and dinger went off, i did a few times, so i know its the driver side switch acting up. Here the problem, i dont understand how the door isnt makin it turn off, cuz i can barely press the switch with my finger and it stops dinging, but its liek the door its even touching it, but it has to be if its closing. I slammed the door hard a few times, and still doesnt work. i made sure nothing was in the door track making it not close completly, is there suppose to be some sort of rubber on the end of the button, so it can make contact with the door jam... I looked at the pass. side button and it looked the same as the sriver side. I just dont get how it doesnt compress the button when i shut the door. Any ideas?

I thought I recalled a metal tab on the door that presses the pin switch. A quick test could be to either shim the metal part of the door that should touch the pin switch (I use a couple piece of foam double-sided tape that are stacked up, for tests like this) or unscrew the pin switch a few turns and see if it makes contact.

Should you need a new switch, they're 5 bucks at the parts store. But first I'd check the part of the door that touches the switch (check for adjustablity).

Good luck.

My car is up on a 2 post lift right now, with the entire front end apart, waiting for my new tubular k-member, a-arms, and coilovers to arrive. The way its on the lift i cant open the doors all the way to see in the jam to well.... I did feel on the door jam where it suppose to press the button and i didnt feel any kinda of tab, just smooth contours. Ill have to look at my friends stang to see how his is setup. All in all im just happy that all my eletrical stuff worked after all this cutting of wires, this is just a small thing in the project right now. Hopefully my k-member stuff arrives soo i can take it off the lift and check stuff out easier.
