I know a few of you were looking forward to seeing this stuff put in, and I finally did it today. I still have some door sills I'm working on but the original idea didn't pan out so I had to think of something else. That's coming hopefully soon.

Anyway here's a pic showing the new leather shifter boots. The shifter one has red stitching to match the stitching in my seats in case you can't tell from the pic :nice:

Also the new floor mats and switch/DIN panel from AlanW6. It houses my overdrive/lockup switch fort he 4R70W as well as an "EJECT" button  :D

Garbage...

:D

Looks top notch as always, it's the little things that add up. The boots are they Redline Goods or no? I have a shift and ebrake boot going in soon, and those look real nice.

BTW, me and a friend might be cruising this weekend to a cottage in MA. Not sure where yet, but I know 1991vert wanted to come hang out or had mentioned it. I figure I can get a few people to cruise up with us, if your interested toss me a PM. Should be a couple of decent fox bodies!

Thanks guys.

Good idea on the key switch, that's something you never see. Maybe I'll have to talk with my CNC-owning friends ;)

Yup, they're by Redline Goods. Nice stuff!

can you explain to me how your trans works? what did you end up having built for it.?

Ryan - It's an AOD-E like the newer Stangs, but the valve body is full manual. Meaning I shift each gear up and down myself like a manual without a clutch on the floor. To get it to work with my older Fox technology we had to cut my stock harness and mate it to a 96+ harness. That was easy except the wiring colors didn't match up and so we had to dig up some pinouts to see WTF controlled what from each year, then make this Frankensteined harness (half is mine, half is from I believe a 99 GT):

This is what I had built, all by my spec:

4R70W (wide gear AODE w/switch-controlled OD)
Clutches: Alto Red & High Energy: Int 4, FWD 5, Rev 4, Direct 7, Welded Carbon OD Band, high grade stub shaft - all the internals that keep it strong. All internals cryogenics treated for strength
Full manual valve body & 3000RPM 10" forged converter w/large carbon lockup clutch - both builder-spec'd and built for my application

and for supporting parts it has a line pressure modulation/blow-through system w/TransGo bypass valve and a B&M heavy duty external fluid cooler.

And since we had trouble locating the proper shift lever arm, I now have a nice custom cut billet aluminum piece :rlaugh: We ordered 2 overnight from Ford and neither matched what I needed to fit on my setup, so we gave up and my friend used his CNC machine to design and cut it out :nice:

Regarding losing the white shift boot, that's basically the whole reason for the post ;) The stock setup with NO boot is just ugly and boring, and a black one is too common. I'm not common :) I don't expect everyone to like it of course, so no biggie.

i like the boot :nice: how much did that cost you to build? im guess a good 3k plus?

Right on the nose, good guess! It is basically the same as the strip terminator or super strip or whatever from the leading AOD companies, but with the wide gearings and my choice of internals and options. But without the big name attached to it, it was cheaper overall. The lesser units from those companies were barely rated to my power levels, and although I know it'd stand up to my car I didn't want to take any chances. Plus, this one isn't an off the shelf unit :) This one will support and has been tested to 800 at the wheels, so I doubt I'll ever have any problems either way.

BTW I was referring to the guy above or below you who said they didn't care for the boot
