Interior Upgrade

So its time to do the interior. I am debating on whether to get cloth or leather. The car is going to be a weekend driver/race/show. What are your opions? Go leather or a nice cloth? I need some feedback on people who have leather interiors so far I have talked to a few people and they say never again to leather...it cracks, you get the ugly wear patterns and lines..etc...but I want the opions of people who look after their cars.

If one of the options you plan on doing is showing your car obviously leather would look nicer, at first my car had leather but I had it removed for cloth only because whoever owned the car before I did, didn't condition it or clean it or take care of it like they should have and at the time I wasn't sure how long I would have the car so I just put factory cloth in (STUPID!). If you condition it, clean it and spray it down and all that good stuff I would say stay with leather or go with leather if you don't already have it, some people may agree and some may not, but in my book leather is the way to go when its taken care of.

I would certainly go with leather. It looks much nicer and classier. If you're only driving it on weekends, then I wouldn't worry too much about it cracking up on you. Just treat it w/ silicone-free leather treatments and you'll be fine

It only cracks because it was not taken care of. Leather is like your skin. It needs to have a good leather cleaner and conditioner put on it regulary to keep it moist. This will prevent the cracking and marking for a much much longer time.

If the car is only going to be a weekend drivin car, then go with leather

You know what might be cheaper is to have the rear seats done in real leather (ie black, tan,...) and then have the front seats done in matching faux leather racing seats, with some racing harnesses added for looks or even actuall use that could look really nice!

Leather, most definitely. I believe it to be more durable than some of the comments imply, even less care-intensive. Use some common sense, though; if the car is going to be left out in the sun, throw a blanket over the leather for some protection (might even be more comfortable when you get back in).

IMHO

Thanks for your input. Leather it is! Also does anybody know what the name of the seats used in the cobra R are? I am looking to upgrade the seats.

in the 2000 cobra r they are rearco seats

recaro.....and I would go with leather since you have a hardtop...if it was a droptop...I would say no....

do you know what model of recaro seat? I looked on their website under oem and they list for the ford focus and and mondeo but not cobra.
