I hope someone can help. I have a 94 cobra which sometimes wont start, it will turn over just not start. And sometimes while driving it will either hiccup or just shut off on its own. Ive put on a new fuel pump, not sure what to do next. Ive taken it to have it checkecd course it wont do it while there and cant get diagnosed. Any thoughts?

put a spark tester in-line between the ignition coil the dizzy when the problem occurrs.check for spark.
if no spark,it's most likely the PIP within the dizzy.a common problem on our car's.
you can replace the PIP by removing the dizzy and pressing the drive gear off the dizzy shaft.
or,you can get a Reman dizzy from the part's store, but when the dizzy is remanufactured, they only replace the part's that are obviously bad.sometimes the PIP is not replaced,so later on you may find yourself in the same boat.

I also have a '94, and for the past 2 years had an intermittant issue with cutting out. In the last couple months it had started getting worse, and I had just started the part replacement roulette game. It finally threw a code 211, which indicates the PIP. Has your check engine light been coming on? Even if it hasn't, it's worth seeing if any codes are stored. Mine was doing it for over a year without giving a code, so if you have to chose a part to replace next, I vote for the dizzy too.

Good luck.
