Internet Scam *title edited*

For months I have had some parts for sale for$150 with no replies, now I have had 3 replies in 2 weeks from supposedly 3 different people and all are willing to send the money before they got the parts. The last one was going to give me $200 for the parts and send me a money order for $3000 for me to deduct the $200 from and give the rest to the carrier. I knew something was up when they would never give me a phone call always with various excuses why they couldn't call. I can tell you sellers beware! Needless to say if they cant meet me I will not sell the parts.

You are not talking about StangNet you are talking about the Internet. Welcome to 2007 and please have the title edited to accurately reflect WTF you are talking about. I take it you have never done business on teh interwebs before?

Yep, those are Nigerian scammers. I've had the same issue when I listed parts on here. I usually try to string them along to make them think I'm going to actually do it...lol.

They have started that with me as well on another site, so I just pulled the items. But you are right all week not a bite and then 3 in a row

For some reason they prefer StangNet's classifieds, so it's increasingly becoming a StangNet problem.

Any forum with a Classified section and a fair amount of traffic has them, not just StangNet by a long shot.

damn i was just gonna post something they just sent one to mee i had pulleys for sale and they sent me a checked for 2500 bucks and told me to wire the rest of the of the money. haha i email that ass and told him i know this is a rip off and if he want his check back he can come to my front door so i can kick his ass

I'm not sure I understand how the scam is supposed to work. What would happen if they roped a dumbass into this scam? Would the dumbass send $ of his own to the so-called buyer?
