I have a 2001 GT with magnaflow header back exhaust with cats. I put some stock 05 gt mufflers on it thinking it would quieter. Turns out they are louder than the magnafolw mufflers. So just FYI on anyone wanting a cheap way to make your older mustang louder, put some 05-09 factory mufflers on there! btw the stock 05 mufflers are 2.5in in and out.
Intresting results with factory 05 gt mufflers.

That's definately interesting. Can you describe the sound for us?
I guess I'm not too surprised because when driving behind my dads 06 GT, I can see nearly unrestricted to the front of the muffler. It isn't streight thru, but it is quite open. The other big difference, would be this muffler is tuned for the behind the axle mounting location on the 05+.
