Hi all...Love the site. I can honestly say I am addicted to reading it at least 3 times a day. Now about the car:
I purchased a 2002 GT in Feb. of 03, and it was a garage queen for several years. After several years of married bliss, I needed a toy. So I put Dynomax cat-backs and a CAI and put 30k miles on it in 3 years. Then I garaged it again for 1.5 years. Now the spiderwebs are gone, and I have an itch. I originally thought of slapping on a KB 2.1 and Bilsteins with 315 tires. Then the thought occured to me...why not just buy a Termi?
After a week of negotiating with the Mrs., I test drove a 2010 GT. Now that I test drove a GT, I want a used GT500.
Here is the problem. The Mrs. is now frustrated and I might not be able to get any of these because of 1) we just had a baby 2) she feels a "Ford" is not up to snuff (she is BMW crazy) 3) I have a 68 camaro and she feels we should stay in that family.
Is a GT with a few bolt-ons and a KB satisfying? Is there enough "kick in the pants" to not want/ need more?
Thanks for reading

haha, i think about 400rwhp is what you'll see with a K.B. GT and some bolt ons. is that enough for u?

and as nice as GT500's are, ive heard some negative feedback on it, but, then again, the few guys on here with them love them. Im sure they'll pop up and give you some advice.

I'm not sure 400hp is where I want to end up. I just found another route I might take. I phoned MMR a few minutes ago, and they quoted me 6700$ for their 850 long block. I believe this will put out approximately 400hp N/A. I am thinking of going this route (same price as KB and bolt-ons). I figure as long as I keep the compression lower, I can add a much more powerful SC in the future.
I just cannot decide. After all this, I still won't be in the SVT club. decisions...decisions..

BMW's suck arse. Now that thats out of the way, Hell yea a bolt on and KB GT will be satisfying. Even if you don't go with the 850long block. #1 don't listen to anyone but yourself if its your car. I wouldn't be buying a new car with the way the car market is right now anyways. Since your car is reletively low mileage its probably in great shape so i wouldn't get rid of it since you won't get what its worth.

Well you gotta ask yourself how much you wanna spend, you can slap a supercharger on your gt and be in the 400-450 range, then if you want more get a forged shortblock and put a smaller pulley on your supercharger and bingo, with a vortech sq trim you could easily see 500+ hp numbers

If you want a real supercar performance on a beer budget then go get a Termi. You can find one with 20K on it for 20K Throw another 6K at it with tune, twin screw, exhaust and such and you have a 600rwhp IRS 6-speed deamon that will do circles around a GT500.

The gt500 is a great car and I would love one but a Termi is more playful and handles better. Its a bit rawer and wont be as nice on long trips but the short trips will leave you with a big smile every time. I have never been able to frown while in my Cobra.... well, except that time my father wrecked it

Anywho, welcome to the site and feel free to ask any questions. Pretty knowledgeable group here... well, except bakos, DocG, fullit, Therian, nightmare, Jinx, SVT32DOHC, LaserSVT, deftsound, mazen, Coramprat, and Timeless.

Please, before you spend ANY money you need to learn a lot more based on what I'm hearing from you. I mean this in the least condescending way possible, earnestly
