Hi,

My name is Dave (ratio411), and I have been hanging around Stangnet for many years.
I started here hanging out in the Classic Forum, being an older guy, I was raised on the classics.

Then I spent a while in the SN95 Forum after I bought a 94 GT vert for my teenage son.

You can see from my avitar that I am a man that likes many performance brands, even though I keep coming back to Ford. I put my 98 Z28 pic up as avitar long, long ago as a joke, but left it because eventually everyone knew exactly who was posting without question due to the unique (for this site) avitar. So the pic is no offense, just an inside joke that stuck.

Anyway, I am going to be hanging around the Fox Forums now, mainly lurking at first.
I just picked up an 87 GT, and am going to need to learn about it.
I know cars, and helping my sons build their 5.0 cars, I have begun my journey into understanding the Fox platform, but still have a long way to go compared to some of you I'm sure.

My oldest son's car is an 81 Fairmont Futura (The 'original' Fox body), and we converted it to an 89 5.0 HO EFI engine, 8.8" rear with 4.10 gears, and most recently a WC T5.... So I have scratched the surface.

Look forward to sharing anything I can, and picking your brains incessantly...

Dave

My 20 year old son got this 81 Fairmont from my Great-Uncle's estate when he was 15.

It was a 200/C4 car.

Now it has an 89 5.0/T5/8.8"
When we did the swap, it was AOD, but just this month we went over to T5.
He is now learning how to drive a stick...
This son has looked over my shoulder long enough that he now does most of the wrenching while I look over his.

MAC headers/X pipe
Custom side exhaust with Dynomax race bullets
Exploder GT 40 intake
Electric fan
Mustang 8.8" we converted to 4.10 gearing
65mm TB
70 mm MAF
93 GT front suspension and quick rack
86 GT 10 holes (He wants to keep 4 lugs)

Parts on his shelf:
Z303 cam
D0 351-w heads, ported/polished
4 lug rear disc brakes from T-Bird Turbo Coupe
24# injectors

Very nice Dave. First things first.....if you want to hang here, you need to get rid of the picture of the "catfish" in your Avatar.

Lots of whackos in the foxbody section here. We're not as well grounded as those classic guys
