Hi guys I was wondering for my 99 4.6 GT what the other options for independent rear suspension would be besides the cobra as in cheaper. What would the approx prices be? Also what kind of power it can take?Is the cobra irs strongest?

Cobra IRS is the only bolt in IRS option. Find someone with a Cobra that will trade with you. I swapped a guy with an 03 Cobra this summer for my 03 GT SRA/suspension. Cost me $500(my half of the labor). I had a new set of 3.73's and an install kit I threw in since I decided 3.55's where I wanted to be with gearing. VRI (Voodoo Racing Innovations) took this pick mid swap.

Just what the world needs, another damn fighter pilot. [emoji12] But I digress.... If you get the IRS from an 03 or 04, I don't think they need much for that level. Already has 31 spline diff and half shaft. Only real complaint I see is the diff case cracking. The 99/01 had weaker half shafts and were more prone to breakage, IIRC. Replace all the rubber bushings with good bushings would be a biggie with either. Now, let's see how I did. @LaserSVT your opinion kind sir.

I was a USAF crew chief. 6 years F-16 and 3 years F -117. My stealth was 83-0807. Fighter pilots are actually a pretty great bunch of folks. I wanted to be one, then I got glasses in the fourth grade. So much for that.

My dad wasnt a pilot. He worked with the military with a lot of stuff. The F-117 pilot we know was flying there anywhere from 2005-2008 ish then I think he went to F-16s. I havent spoke to him since right after my father passed cuz I lost his phone number but I recently found his email like 3 days ago. The F-22 pilot I have on facebook he was the first F-22 demo pilot and he was based out of langley. And I have a bunch of hornet pilots on facebook too one of which was a former blue angel around 03 04 if im right and I think he was one of the opposing solos? Anyway I know a lot of pilots and other people in the military lol

I got out in 99. I just wondered cause I launched an F14 guy out in my jet around 98. You will find the aviation community can be fairly small. Run into a lot of people you know through out the years.

Well, I can't speak about the Navy, but the AF has become a politically correct pain in the ass. If zero vis, night time traps don't scare the crap out of you, I think I go Navy. I got out in 99, but I'm currently a contract mechanic at Nellis. See the AF fighter world everyday.

Nice pics. Red scarf and patch, must be Knight. 9th FS "Once a knight...........IS NEVER ENOUGH" I was a Knight.

Of my 3 jets, 807 was hands down the best jet I could get. Damn thing never broke. I don't seem to have pics of my two 16's on this phone.

not eligible for 4 year rotc. grades fell in high school when dad died and the only thing that excelled was my wrestling leading team with pins etc lol. 2 or 3 year rotc would work air force or navy.
