Anyone know what driveshaft I can use for a stang equipped with an auto thats going to get an IRS swapped into it? Im not sure if I can reuse the stock driveshaft. I know the t-birds have autos and IRS, but am I able to use the stock driveshafts from either the cobra and GT or would I have to look elsewhere?

A D/S from a 99/01 Cobra is what you need. The IRS d/s is slightly shorter I believe. You can use an FRPP M4602G (96-98 Cobra and 96-04 GT), but if I'm right, you'll need to have it cut and re welded and balanced. A 03/04 d/s won't work. It has a different spline on the output shaft for the T-56 and I believe it's to short to begin with.

Look at you actually helping.

Yeah its a 99 IRS going into an 03 GT with an auto. I dont need the driveshaft from the GT since I doubt itll work, being its shorter. Ill just get an aluminum driveshaft for the Cobra after the solid axle swap. I was just wondering if I can reuse either of the driveshafts on the GT.

Not to start another pissing contest, but you'd be suprised If you didn't talk so much $hit, I'm sure other people would treat you differently than they do.

I use to balance driveshafts at the Axle plant from 98-mid 02. There are about 5 different driveshafts that I can remember for the Mustangs. Unfortunately I don't remember the difference in lengths. I'm sure someone who has done the swap already will be more helpful.
