Is a canton oil pan req for 408 to fit our cars?

What I know: A specific pan must be used. FMS (and others) sells a 351w/Fox swap pan and pickup tube. (A "truck" 351w pan won't work.) Last time I checked, the FMS one was about $175.00.

What I've heard: Some Crown Vics came with the 351w. (Police package?) Supposedly, that pan and pickup will work in our cars.

I hope this helps.

I think I am leaning that way. I was looking at a 700HP 96 cobra but it got ******(****** sna-tch-ed is considered a bad word? lol) ed. I think me car is repairable. I am going to take it to someone next week. Insurance co is giving my $5k and clean title I must fix. They say because it looks new and excellent condition but still totalled.

Dude, go for it!

There is a guy over on hardcore 5.0 with a fox body 418W, AFR 225s, Comp XE282-HR cam, Victor 5.8 EFI and a 2004 V6 4R70W auto tranny (3.73s) running 10.69s. No porting of the intake or heads.

:nice:

The great thing about using off the shelf parts like that is that people can know exactly what to expect from a combo. Porting and custom cams put that dreaded element of black magic into it.
