From what ur saying, I'd get it looked at. It could be many things none of them good. If it was just some chatter, I'd say let it go but grinding noise......... nothing should be grinding. I used a RAM HD good for applications up to 600hp. I had no chattering at all with no miles on it. I went from a McCleod Stage 3 to the RAM HD and it was a great decision. But it could cost alot more if you wait too long. The most they can say is "it's fine
i agree with madmike. if you dont have a good understanding on what you are looking at/dealing with you might miss the problem. clutch chatter is part of HD clutches but odd noises are the worlds worst indicators of a problem or a soon to be problem. unfortunatly a description of a sound may be good but it does not tell us what is accualy going on in a car. i dont know how many times people say it is a bad throw out bearing to someone and most of the time they are right but there is always that small chance it is something else that should be fixed right away. what i have told you to do is simple and i would crawl under your car and look you may find your answer while your down there but the sad truth is, getting it fixed once it is found. a bad throw out bearing can be driven on for a long time but if there is a bent spline, or a miss torqued pressure plate causing the throw out bearing to make messed up noises then you can mess your clutch up. i would not freak out yet untill you get down there and look.
