I can get a good deal on a new one. What exactly would it do for me? I'm assuming that would be better than buying a shift kit. Someone enlighten me here.
Street/strip VB allow you to either 1)put it in drive and the tranny shifts by itself or 2) put it in first and YOU have to manually shift it to 2nd and 3rd and so one.
Not sure about the street strip vb specifially but the best thing about buying the entire valve body is that you take the stock one out and install the new one. Not like a shift kit where you take the valve body apart and have to install the springs/shims ect. Just drop the pan unbolt one and bolt up the new one.
Havent done it myself but I know its much less involved than putting in the shift kit itself. Just need to drain the fluid and once you get the pan off the VB is right there. Just a couple of bolts. Might try posting this in tech and someone can tell you from experience. But from my understanding its that easy.
