I recently purchased a 2000 Mustang GT and the headlight covers are foggy / hazy instead of being clear, is it possible to clean these or do I just have to replace them altogether? Thanks.
I put in a vote for PlastX from Meguiars. It is designed for just this type of problem. I have an '03 so the headlights aren't faded yet, but this is the product I will try first!
Fox body lights are easy to wet sand and rub. There is no coating. The 99-04 lights have a coating that you will burn through. You must sand all of it off to make is look decent. They still don't look like new though. I would just buy new ones.
I just got 2 headlights for my 2000 for 84 bux with bulbs, brand new(aftermarket not oem). IMO its not worth it to try to fix them. Mine are the 01-04 smoked style.
I got 01+ headlights from randy @ MD for 150 shipped. NOTHING will look as good as new OEM headlights... I tried to polish my lenses on my 2000, I didnt have good results as mine were too far gone.
