i got a pump in there finally, it doesent seem to jitter when you turn it sitting still but its still making a ton of noise. its probably on its way out since theres metal flakes in the fluid. i was gonna start fluishing and cleanin up the fluid. how can i find one that dosent make too much noise. its louder than my stock one i know that, and this is my 3rd parts store pump.

I have the same problem and the noise drives me crazy. I replaced my rack. pump and pressure hose. I used type f and the added Lucas ps additive. Still noisey. Then I switch the fluid out to Royal Purple ATF still noisey. I even bought another cap and drilled a hole in it so I could hook up my vacuum pump. I figured there was air in the system. I pumped it down and still no deal. My old pump was quiet. I changed it because it was leaking.

Neither my truck or my Stang makes any noise. I rebuilt the pump in the Stang when I had the engine out last winter. It was getting a bit noisy. There must 100 parts in those pumps. Lots of little tiny springs and other what-nots.

i put sythetic PS fluid in it. used an old turkey baster and sucked the pump dry and refilled it with the syn then started the car and turn the wheels lock to lock a few times, repeat to make sure you pull as much of the dino fluid out till no more whine.
wish i could do this with my wife.

I'm still on my stock unit and it's pretty quiet. It did start leaking and I bought a repair kit, fairly easy to install and you don't have to replace everything, just what needs it. Guess the moral is, find a quiet one and rebuild it, the trade in's at AZ and like stores seem to be the ones that are noisy. At least that's what I've discovered.

well i got in it last night and couldnt seem to get it to squawk when i turned it fast like it did, perhaps getting air out of it helped. theres still metal flakes in the fluid so im going to try to switch it over to synthetic ps fluid before it screws my rack.

word on corral is that mm is making a ps kit for people with ac, so im just gonna hold out for that most likely
