Is it safe to charge the battery while in the car and hooked up?

Im thinking yes because its only 12v and I can also put it on 2 amp low charge... but I want to double check so I dont melt stuff.....

I have never had a problem charging a batt. in the car.

i had a battery blew up in my Stang when it was sitting at a parking lot, so i will take precautions from now on when doing battery things.

I generally don't do it on my cars just in case something were to happen, but we do it on the trucks at work all the time w/ no problems.

one needs to be careful with the gasses floating above a battery (and there can be a lot more gasses when the battery is discharged). toss a spark in there, and bad things happen.

ive got an optima, no gas ... i think....

NO, PARKED IT, HANGOUT WITH FRIENDS GOT BACK IN IT THEN BOOMMMM.
SO NOW ON IM BEING A LITTLE CAREFULLY WITH WHAT KIND OF ELCETRIC STUFF I DO.
