Is it trashed ? Found this crack after engine overheated.

Is there any hope for this, what are my options, only 100 miles on this rebuild when alternator froze up and lost the serpentine belt, causing the engine to overheat.
crack is front side of #5 hole.

I'm no expert,but a crack through a headbolt hole is no bueno.

I'd probably defer to a machine shop who can inspect in person, but I think i'd be looking for a new block.

If your engine overheated to this extent, what is wrong that you cannot see? BEST scenario is taking it apart and having the block magna fluxed... I would be looking for a new block my self..... Sucks..
One reason when you overhaul an engine you replace MOST of the accessories, if not rebuild them.....

Good perspective there. It needs to be inspected no matter what. If that's the only crack, it might be more cost effective to weld it if that is possible. If there are more problems, repair might exceed the cost of a new block.
