There is a guy around here with a 2004 40th anniversery GT that is saying that the 04's came out with 300hp unlike the 99-03's. That the 04's had more stuff done to them. Is this true?

not true. 2005 was the first stock gt with 300 hp. they have 3 valve heads, not 2 like a standard gt.

That dude is full of it. Same power rating as my 01.

+1 Agree,The only 04 non cobra w/300hp are the Mach's,but then they are 4v.He's full of it.

I honestly couldnt tell you if it's a real one or not because i dont know what justify's them as real anniversary cars. I used to own this car and i was 99% sure that it had the stock hp rating as the others. I just figured it never hurts to ask. But this car has cloth seats,no traction control,no mach 460 system and wheels like the 00, 01's had from the factory. What makes them a real anniversary car? because i no own a 99 GT 35th anniversary and i wanna know if it's a true anniversary.

Well, they all come with the 40th and 35th badges.

A real 40th anniversay GT is fully loaded, has the painted '03/04 cobra mirrors, no spoiler, gold painted bullitt wheels and has a special "crimson red" color....as well as white and black. They also have gold hood stripes.

The 35th anniversary car has the same scoops as the 01+ Mustangs, machnined wheels and a black hood decal as well as blackout honeycomb ont he rear

Wow, it sounds like the REAL 40th anniversary cars are pretty rare. Im pretty sure ive never sean a real one in person.

Sounds like his is either a GTs(stripped out GT) or a 6 cylinder.

Im pretty sure you could order them however you wanted. I knew a chic that had a stripped GT. It still had the 6 cylinder rims. I didnt believe that it was a v8 until I opened the hood.
