ok is it really worth swapping my IRS out for a solid axle? what are the benefits? and is it worth the money? my cobra is my daily driver and sees the track every now and then, but i wanted to swap it out and get 4.10's in, but should i just keep my IRS and save that money for other stuff? thanks -Jeff

the only thing the live axle is good for is drag racing. it shouldn't cost anything because you can swap with someone that wants IRS. but if drag race a few times a year, keep the irs...i'm sure its way better for daily driving.

keep the IRS. swapping out to a soldi axle is fine if you drag race the car all the time, but the worse ride of a solid axle would he horrible on a daily when compared to your IRS. plus if you ever decide to go road racing you will be kicking yourself for dumping the IRS.

If you really want to get better launches I'd invest your money is slicks or drag radials.

Since its a daily driver, though, it might not be a bad idea to get a pair of slicks and rims for them just for the track. Easy to swap out whenever you need them

if you put drag radials on it you will be busting halfshafts all the time. I would put a solid axle in and you will have a lot less worries. do you ever plan on going road racing. if you don't then ditch the irs. I would go a long ans you have planned with the axles and drag radials
