I've been working all the small bugs out of my car recently and have been wondering about my cam I have. It's an Ed Curtis cam from FTI, FTI actually did most the engine work. The mods are:

TFS TW heads - Fox Lake ported, 3 angle valve job
Edelbrock intake mani
Ed Curtis cam
1.6 roller rockers
Holley 75mm TB and EGR
80mm Pro M MAF
24# injectors
MAC headers
Flowmasters

I have attached the cam sheet I have, the engine mods were done on the car when I got it, but I don't want anything happening to the car here. Give me some advice here. People on a local board are telling me it's too big and could be denting the pistons.

****Chart pcs taken down due for respect :nice: ****

If you told Ed its a stock shortblock, you shouldn't have any clearance issues. My old FTI cam was a little bigger than that and my TW heads cleared my stock pistons just fine and they were milled .020" :)

... if your running stock pistons i would think you would definantly have trouble with clearance.

How can you say that without knowing anything else? I think Ed knows what he's doing! The head is designed to work with stock pistons...

They don’t require flycut pistons for use with cams up to the specifications listed—no other 2.02"-valved head for small block Ford offers these features!

Wow... Lemme get this straight..

You've got a camshaft and engine spec'd by Ed Curtis at FTI and you're asking a bunch of internet forum jockeys if they think Ed Curtis was wrong?

Man, you put too much faith in people on internet forums..

Why don't you ask Ed Curtis if he thinks it will clear with out problems?

:nice:

I use Ed for a lot of cams and I leave those specs up to him, he's the expert. If the cam was speced and built for your combo it is fine, personally I like the specs and I think it fits just fine with your combo.

Out of respect for Ed and his work I wouldn't have posted that sheet but just given the @ .050 numbers.
