im now paranioid because it happend to my buddys hood and now a guy from our local stang club.

anyways when im going down the highway at a good speed my hood tends to wiggle slightly, its a fibreglass cobra R is it because its fibreglass that it wiggles like that or should I be worried?

what brand of Cobra R hood do you have? I have the Ford hood, and have had no issues for years.

hood pins look awesome, especially with the cables

not to mention that it's a good idea that any aftermarket hood have them. It's a cheap way to save your life

I am a FIRM believer in hood pins. If I ever swap my hood I WILL have hood pins installed!

if the hood is not the OEM 95 Cobra R hood directly from ford, i would definitely get hood pins. no matter how well the hood appears to be built, i would never trust an aftermarket company without pins. that is chancing your life as well as risking serious damage to your car. better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.

I have always heard that with aftermarket hoods, since most of them are fiberglass, that you need hoodpins. They just don't weigh enough to stay down on their own with the regular latch. That sucks, cus when I get my hood, I don't wanna have those fugly metal contraptions sticking outta the front of my car. That's like having braces on it.

Get the Ford OEM Cobra R hood. Sweeeeet. No issues either. Peace

Basically what others have said, I've never owned an aftermarket hood, but would if I do it would have hood pins. (safety and I think they look good)

Im doing the hood pins w/ the cables when I get around to getting a diffrent hood

I have an aftermarket hood and installed hood pins right away. It has already saved my a$$ once. I stopped to get gas after a 100 mile trip and went to check the oil. When I went to take the pins out the hood was NOT latched. Not having pins is like going on vacation without a swimsuit!

It's like a rule for me.. after hearing enough stories about aftermarket hoods flyin up.. better safe than sorry, I dont care for the looks of them myself, but if it saves ya once.. its worth it

ive had my hood for going on 3 years now and i havent had any issues at all. i dont want hood pins and im content with it.

Yeah my CobraR hood flew off, not pretty. Crushed the windshield, dented the roof and the wipers never worked since. Went right back to stock.

Does anyone make any like "stealth" hood pin systems or any equivalent.. theres gotta be a more secure system out there without having to drill your hood
