Is my shifter spring loaded

Hey people , i just got my shortThrow shifter from ford racing, how can yea tell if its spring loaded, this is going to be my project for the weekend and what am i to expect outta this , this will be my last upgrade for the transmission. I think there is only one spring loaded shifter out there and it is not the FRPP one. I could be wrong but I think most of them operate under your strength to shift rather than springs. I thin MGW is the only one that has spring assist. I could be absolutely 100% wrong on this, so someone set me straight if I am.

I have the tri ax shifter from steeda and it is spring loaded for better3rd shifts.

The lever should be centered in the housing. Try moving it left and right, if it does have a spring it might be rather hard to do so and will spring back to center. As far as the install, I hope you have small hands. If not, expect to get your hands all scraped up squeezing them under the console to get the front lower boot screws, they're kind of a pain.

I just recently installed my MGW shifter and I had to take out the entire console to access the front bolts of the dust cover. Very very nice piece though.

Doesn't your wife do all the work on your car??? She could have fit her hands in there!

Ahh side to side could definitely be springloaded. I was thinking of forward to backward motion. I'm retarded. Carry on.

Ahhh yea it does the side to side and springs back to the middle , im wanting to do it today but am going to wait , hope its abit easier going into 3rd now, its a well made piece of machinery. Thanks Jr
