I know i don't have much in my car just cobra intake, asp al. pulleys, cai, shift kit, and 39fp. I know my car is a fat pig cause of the aode, but i thought i could have at least taken a buddys car. He has a 94 Vert 5 speed. We went at it rolling at about 40(still in 1st) then we took off and he just started pullin on me and kept pulling. He's a buddy of mine so I know I'll hear about it for a while but i didn't think he would be able to take me that bad. All he has are $40 mufflers(cutoffs) and an h-pipe made at a local shop. I have the 4.10s at home and have an appt. to get them installed on monday, they should help. What do you guys recommend??
thanx

Yes your tranny is that bad. Aode's take out quite a bit of power away from the wheels. I would look into an off road mid pipe to help her exhale a bit better. If you really want to help it get up and go look into a converter that helps out autos quit a bit. Good luck.

The best way to wake up you aode(I did this also) is too get a good name torque converter and a set of 373,or 410 gears and you will smoke your buddy Precision Industries makes the best conv. for Mustangs, but there pricey,,700 beans www.converter.com ,,or edge converters, there alot cheaper but I hear alot of good things about them!!! If you go to the web site, the one you want is the stallion

Yes, the 4.10 gears will make a world of difference. I also recommend a mid-pipe and a converter (with tranny cooler at the same time).

yeah thats rite,if you get a conv.,definitly get a tranny cooler at the same time,or you will risk burning up your tranny. And one more, not sure about the sn's,but in foxes when you get gears you should also get an aluminum drive shaft, they get a bad drive train vibration at high speeds!! What do think 1hot5.0.Im sure your rite behind me

AODE's aren't that bad, I know I am going to get roasted on that statement, but really they are built fairly well from the factory. If you ever had to have it rebuilt (I did) there are a host of aftermarket pieces for it i.e.: Kevlar clutches, mechanical diode, harden input shaft and other things.

Now on to your problem I also have 4:10's with a PI 2500 stall behind a 347. I really don't consider it racing from a roll but, you should have NO problems smoking him with those two things alone but I would highly recommend getting a chip burnt when you do put the gears in. I didn't and burnt up my first transmission. I spoke to Chris Johnson when he owned J.M.S. in Mobile and he told me that the computer, in some cases, will not be able to compensate for the gear change. He must have been right because I burnt up my first one. Second go around I got a chip and two years later it still shoots out of the hole like a bullet with absolutely no hesitation and the shifts are hard as a rock at wide open throttle.

Go with 4:10's a 2800-3200 pi stall converter and A j-mod shift kit and you will have alot of fun. Go to www.tccoa.com tech then tranny and you will find info on a shift kit and some parts you should get for $40 from ford.

I don't know about the best but I am very pleased with their service and products. I am very picky who I let work on my car if I don't have the time to do it myself and I would let them do it without question.

A custom burn chip and a dyno would the ideal thing to have but they nailed my chip first go around without the dyno.

A 375 dollar chip is less expensive than a 1600 dollar rebuild if you don't get the chip. I would do it just for piece of mind.
