I have a 91 LX Vert' I noticed that on both the drivers side and passenger side where the door glass seals to the 1/4 glass that there is about a 1/4 inch gap between the two.

I am ordering new weather stripping for the seal but read on 50 Resto's site that the main cause for failure is the door glass or 1/4 glass being misaligned. Is there a way for me to adjust both window to make a tighter fit? If so, how? Now would be the best time since I have the 1/4 trim and door panels off.

I plan on replacing the weather strip regardless but I just installed new carpet and other parts and want to ensure the best seal to keep it from getting ruined.

Thanks for the help.

Your probably not gonna like this answer, but you have to remove the inside interior quarter and get a mnual on how to asdjust and repair the parts in the mechanism. There are plastic guides that wear out and/or fall out and even the rod that the mechanism rides on can break it's plastic mount at the bottom. Gotta open it up to look-see what's goin on.

No link exits, you gotta buy the paper manual. I don't have it or the link to the place that sells it, but someone who reads this might. I just had to get into mine and figure it out the hard way.

Thanks Tom. The interior 1/4 panels are already off. I'll take a look tomorrow. Any idea what this type of book might cost? Would it be just as expensive or close to it if I took it to a glass repair shop and had it done professionally?

If I recall right, the manual was ~$15. Wish I would have bought it or remembered where to get it. I know it was from a shop that supplies top parts. Try the restoration suppliers.

Just be sure it's the 1/4 windows and not the door windows, I tried adusting my quarters out and it would only go up half way before getting stuck so I put it back the way it was and brought the door ones in.....problem solved

Thanks for the link qtrracer.

thanks for the tip Artus70 I will check that out. I imagine it would probably be best if I wait and install the new weather stripping before making any adjustments to factor in differences made by it. Fortunately it only takes 1 day for my packages to arrive from 50resto. Thanks for all the help guys.
