I FINALLY, got my JLT intake. But there is no hole for the IAT sensor. Is this sensor really needed or can I delete it somehow. Don't really want to drill a hole in my new intake. HELP!

with a kenne-bell, lots of people recommend the iat be moved to the runner so that there is a more accurate reading of the air temp (after the boost). that allows the computer to modify the ignition timing correctly, lowering the possibility of detonation.95cobradude said:on 94-95 cars i would put it where it belongs, in the inlet tract after mass air meter.
bad idea in general, but especially for a boosted application, don't do it.xkuntrycowboyx said:don't know if you'd wanna try this...(i dunno about 18HP) but it would b a solution to DELETING it .... i believe... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18HP-PERFORMANCE-CHIP-FORD-MUSTANG-87-93-94-98-99-04_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33598QQitemZ8016664305QQrdZ1
Could you post a pic of this? And does the stock Cobra have this port?BlackVert said:yes it is definately needed.
you can keep it in the tube between the maf and throttle body, or you can put it in the lower in the runner for the #5 cylinder. i think this is the stock location in the 87-93 5.0s.
my lower (a holley systemmax) has a threaded hole for it already, so i put mine there, but i haven't lengthened the wires yet so i can't connect it yet.

in this picture, it is just below the leftmost port. there is a brass plug in it.KBCobra95 said:Could you post a pic of this? And does the stock Cobra have this port?
in your application, since the intake tube is after the blower, the air would already be boosted/heated up by that point. so your iat should see the correct temp even if it is in the stock location.DarkProphet said:So would it be a good idea for me to move it into the #5 runner??
