I am getting a new T-455 in my 96GT, I got my old one stuck in 4th. Anyway, I am getting the tranny in quick so I can drag on Friday night, is there a break in period for the transmission that I need to worry about?
I had my 97 GT swapped from auto to 5 spd a couple months ago with all new parts and a rebuilt t-45. My mechanic told me 500 miles on everything would be broken in, so I would think you should be alright

Total came out to about $1500 with pretty much all new parts (rebuilt tranny)which was around $1200 and the labor was $300. I would have saved about $200, but i bought the wrong computer for my car , so it was an additional $250 on top of the $200 to have my old one reprogrammed. So now i have a 5 spd computer out of a 01 GT sitting in my room, but the car is more fun to drive.
