Is there any way to inner cool KB blower?

I have a 1993 Cobra 5.0. 100 % stock long block.

Question is I like the idea of easy installation and bolting it onto my GT 40 intake.

Not looking for anything crazy just some nice low end Torque. However I live in Florida and wondered if anyone has come up with a way to innercool the kit as KB doesnt offer one.

Im going to be getting a KB soon hopefully...i have a used one lined up...for a good price the only way to intercool a KB without manger Fabing in to use water meth injection unless you have someone who can custom make you a intercooler?.....Hope this helps

I wondered though if you get the large resivoir for the snow kit exactley how long would the boost juice last for?

I found a company that told me they could do an air to air cooler I am just not sure how they would fab it.....I really dont want to complicate things to much and I hate to fork out the cash if the things really isn't effective.

Which Kenne Bell are you gettin? 1.7 or the 2.1 ?

Well if you set the water injection to come in say just a pound before full boost say your running 6 psi set it at 5 psi i would think it would last for awhile....

Im getting the older version the 1.5 its fully polished comes with a 65 MM TB and EGR spacer to match...I just need to get 24# injectors and MAF to match and the 255 lph fuel pump im going to be running 6 psi so i think i should be ok fuel wise..just will have to play with the timing and get a good wide band A/F so i make sure i dont go lean...Oh yeah a good fuel pressure gauge also so i make sure i have enough fuel pressure under boost.....

i too have had serious interest in this and have asked jim bell himself and he says there is no way to efectivly do this without hacking up the manifold or (the blower)as most of us know it to be called.there is a very nice gentelman out in newyork or florida who has the worlds fastest kb 5.0 that does 9's he has a ton of info on this.just google worlds fastest kenne bell 5.0 .

I have some photos and pictures of a guy who did an air to air cooler for the kit. I sent the photos and video to a company that does custom coolers. They say they can fab a kit for it.....but I am not so sure about having a kit fab without them having my car there to do real life measurements........

with that being said I also emailed Kenne Bell about IC.

I recieved a response back...

They said they do not know of a way to IC the system nor do they have any plans to come up with any type of IC for the kit.....another question i asked was if they are willing to fab up a kit for you based on ones request for a custom kit as I am sure they could do it special order.....there gentlemans answer was that they have to many of there own projects to worry about stuff like that.......which I understand buisness is buisness

I currently have a vortech old V1 Strim....I too was looking for "instant" boost......

As far as answer questions and customer service goes. Vortech BY FAR surpasses both in service and being helpful when one has questions or concerns about any of there products without giving one word answers........ Unless Kenne bell comes up with a IC .... I ll be sticking with the vortech.......

There's a few around here that have a KB, but as has been stated, there's really no effective way to go about intercooling it. If one were to custom make a lower intake with an intercooler (like the 03-04 Cobra), I bet you'd have to get a cowl hood for clearance, as intercoolers like that typically aren't very small. Even integrated into a lower intake, it would still take quite a bit of ingenuity to build and still have decent hood clearance, while maintaining decent street manners, particularly low end torque when you're not making boost. Did that shop give you an idea of what to expect to pay for their custom job? I can't imagine it'd be cheap...

Thats why i said most guys running the KB just use water injection as an intercooler.....Works for them..lol....but as a daily driver making 6-8 psi i really dont think its a must..unless you were racing it all the time to overheat the intake charge...then it might be a good idea for an intercooler...but a good old Water injection kit is fine.....

Yea my car is street car only....maybe track once a year with it.

So my max would probably be 8-10 PSI anyway.....

Didnt give me price on custom job. It was air to air kit with having to modify the manifold..... I am sure it wasnt going to be cheap...

My 85 there is a looks to be a somewhat complete kit on ebay now...not sure what model it is though....

Decesions.... Are there really any other systems out there for the foxs that are incooled other than the vortech?

someone told me that the Vortech Air to water kit is not ver effective as far as daily driving goes? Is this true? Also would it make a difference if you mounted the coolant tank in the hatch area...

I am still going back and fourth between the KB and what not
