Is this a good deal for a 351w?

I purchased a 94 F250 351W roller block and its trans EFI and all for 187 from local salvage yard , dont know milage but the block had just been rebuilt wasnt any sludge anywhere,

not saying this guy is givin ya a bad deal just saying you might want to shop around some more

It sounds too good to be true to me. Seems like the bargain of the century. ..which would make me very suspicious. Is the guy operating a company, or just a guy selling a motor/trans? If you strongly believe you can trust him, I don't think you need to shop more. You might want to look at the plugs, drop the pan and check things out a little before going ahead. Maybe some others here can suggest how to examine a motor.

The deal that RajunCajun says he got - well you can't get a deal like that around here. Well maybe you can, but a typical rebuilt motor alone is well over $1,000. A junk yard in my area would charge at least $500 for a motor and trans -as is, no guarantee. I would expect to pay $800 for someone just to install a motor I already own. I think I need to move.

One thing you should know is that your suspension and rear end aren't ready for that engine and trans. There's a 6 to 8 conversion post stickied in the chat forum, check it out. Maybe you already know this, but I just wanted to mention it.

Yea maybe I didnt explain very good
The salvage yard didnt know the motor was rebuilt, the truck was a beat up work truck but after a few mins of checking things, pan, intake, heads I found it had just been reassembled, under all that grime and sludge on the exterior of the motor and truck it had fresh internals

guess what Im trying to say is what they dont know wont cost u

& yes the price I paid has a lot to do with my location in relation to other people in the US, I genneraly would pay 300-500$ for a run capable engine in a salvage yard around here.

This guy is a friend of the family who has his own place. He is very trustworthy. I think he needs the space so he wants it out of the shop.
