Is this a good deal on a 302 engine

This guy has a 302 rollor engine for sale 2k.. its a built 302 HO with a 4 bbl carb brand new.. he says its a 240 HP engine.. is this a good deal for this engine or no.. is it really 240 HP where can I find info on these engines..

um.....i dunno man....i have a built 302 with 4k miles on it...pretty much complete exceot an alternator and waterpump...roller...puts out 240-250 hp....i was hoping to get much less than $2000 for it. If it is 100% complete from carb to oil pan, BRAND new, and he can produce receipts, 2k isnt too bad.

I was just quoted $650 for a 5,000 mile 91 mustang 5.0 HO with all of the electronics.. this was from a ford salvage yard that I consider to be on the expensive side. Theres no way in h$ll Id pay $2000 for a 302 unless it was really special.

2k is too much, granted thats about what it would cost to do it yourself.....BUT, I wouldn't pay more than a grand or so. I don't trust others to build my engines, so I'd tear it down and check everything and reassemble it.
