Sorry guys I am fairly new to the mustangs and there modifications but I am looking at a '94 GT here locally with a fair amount of engine mods.

I was wondering though after recent research if the cam that the owner has installed was too big.
The major mods are:
Trick Flow heads, TF Intake manifold (upper and lower I believe), F-cam (I assume the 303 he said it was the largest one you can get from trick flow), 3.73's, locking diff, I forgot to ask what the engine was tuned with, full exhaust (missed what kind I think flowmaster but not sure but he was speaking so fast I was having trouble writing everything down.), I think he said bbk shorty headers but again was having trouble keeping up, and thats about the extent of the mods that I was able to write down enginewise.

I am going to check the car out tonight and if it all checks out I will most like purchase it but I was wondering if the cam was too big. I read that you need high flowing heads and manifold to accomodate for the larger duration of the cam. The guy really sounds like he knows what he's doing and I am sure trick flow would make there heads flow enough to run there own high lift cam so I am not too worried but was just wondering what you guys thought.

Also, what kind of power should thicar be roughly putting down given the mods. I know it also has a CAI but thats not really a major mod though. One last thing what kind of 1/4 mile times would I expect to see with drag radials and a good launch/60ft? Thanks Guys!

alright well I am positive he said f-cam (thought he said trick flow in front of that or something but he was listing everything off really fast and I was trying to write haha)

Anyways either way is the cam too big?

with a good 60ft you should be in the low13's, with a realy good 60ft you could be anywere from high 12's to mid 12's. Alot of things come into play, like area under the curve for most power in the entire rpm range, weight, susp., tune, ect.

Alright thats what I was expecting to read. I have raced my MR2 turbo a couple times and I was able to muster a 1.9 with a botched launch (no traction due to bald harder compound tires and a slick track) I am sure I will need to practice a lot though if I do end up buying this mustang. Thanks Everyone!

Back when I first started to get into racing, there was a guy with a full-accessoried Fox coupe with a claimed race weight of 3300...

He had them ancient Edelbrock 1.90 heads, GT40 manifold, and some small, split pattern Isky cam with all your normal bolt-ons, 4.10 rear. 70/30's, 50/50's, stock control arms running 12.1x's on slicks in good air.

If the car is built RIGHT, even with that cam, the car should be able to go 12.50's without a sweat.
