mid 250's to 260's and possible top side of 12's if you can get the traction. Unfortunately you wont see much higher than 260's unless you can seriously dial in the fuel and timing...then maybe 270.

TMoss has a good tech article that discusses the amount of horsepower possible w/ ported stock parts. the best thumper E7 combo made ~280. i really doubt you'll top that.

Maybe... to give you some hope my combo made 272 rwhp...

Stock bottem end (honed), Stock cam, E7s with larger valves and valve job, rockers, Cobra intake, 65mm TB, 75mm MAF, CAI, pulleys, LTs, prochamber, catback.

On a stock 100,000 mile 95 short block it made 265rwp on a hot day.

It "could" but 250-260 would be about average!

I jump on the traing and agree itll be close, around 250, ive seen thumper heads, tmoss intake and bcam make 280hp, your mods are of the same type of parts but the combo is still differnt, itll be close.

Remember most stock 5.0's dyno in the 190's with a 5spd so putting up 260 is a nice 70hp gain with just some porting and a small cam upgrade...nothing to scoff at IMO.

My nearly stock 120K mile 5.0 put 220rwhp and 285rwtq.
All I had were pulleys and a catback.

Ok..but that really doesn't change the fact that stock 5.0's typically dyno under 200 in 5spd form..so if he see's anything over 250 then he's made excellent gains with a mild H/C/I combo IMO.

Well I have driven a 220 rwhp and a 275 rwhp Mustang a LOT... There is zero comparison and the money is well spent. A 220 rwhp Mustang on slicks with a good launch might go 12.9 @ 102 or so. My car with 275 rwhp went 12.9 @ near 108 on 17" street radials... For the money spent, sure he could have sprayed it, but having 275 rwhp all day long is definately a better option (and then you can spray it to well over 400 rwhp).

Some call it a waste of money, but I gaurentee if you pulled up next to a 275 rwhp Mustang and raced him, youd be sadly mistaken for what 50rwhp (remember, 50 is near 1/4 of the power the car makes) really does!

good point, 50RWHP would be over 1/4 of what they make stock
I am going with a thumper/tmoss combo in the coming weeks, hoping for high 12's

i know they a different intake would help and the cam is not a great one but i got it cheap and any cam is better than the stock one. i also plan on having the intake ported to match the heads, the runners are much smaller than the heads. i want to get as close to 300 as i can without rebuilding the motor or putting a blower or spray. what cam will help me out to put me closer.

I'd like to see that dyno chart man...I'm not saying its not true, its possible you have a factory freak. But those type of numbers are unheard of. That means that with the 15% driveline loss your car is makin upwards of 255 hp at the crank. Wouldnt get that with just a catback and pullies.

Anyways i would also guess about 250 to the wheels for the ported E7 combo! and those would be great numbers. 250rwhp is a fun street car!

My car made 220rwhp and 285 rwtq with the only mods being a cold air intake an exhaust. Oh and it had 210,000 miles on it.

Definately believable numbers, I have seen similar from a few cars. But the point is 220 rwhp and 275 rwhp are worlds apart when it comes down to it. And saying it isnt worth it because of the mods, is obviousely coming from someone who has never driven cars making both power numbers!

any cam is not better than the stock one, it depends on your combo and where you want your power. Get a cam that makes its power from above 2500rpm's and see how much fun that is for the street. Get a cam that makes all it's power below 3000 rpm and see how fun that is at the track. A cam properly matched to the properly matched combo you hopefully already have is what you want

I've read several threads where fast (decently modified) cars are running the stock cam.

I'm not saying I have the best combo, either, but that's what came w/ the car and I'm not trying to make a dyno queen or all out drag car, so I'm good.
