Is this normal ground clearance for a Bassani X?

I've only got about 3" of clearance tops after putting my catted Bassani X on my 89 today. I had a Bassani X on my old GT & don't recall it hanging this low. The cat-back will be gone in favor of dumps after inspection so I'm hoping it will be higher, but I'm not counting it.

Way too low. I have a Bassani catted X on my Stang and it sits much tighter up than that.

I have a catted Bassani X and mine is super tight to the body.

looks like the problem isnt with the midpipe, but with the headers...look at how low they are!!

Those headers look like they are pointing down and causing the problem.

I have shorty headers. They can't even be seen in the pic

what you need to do is loosen the whole system up and then jack up the h-pipe kinda toward the catback and then tighten it all down. should fix ya up just fine.

Was your catback custom cut to your old mid pipe? My catback was cut for a MAC H-pipe, but now the catback isnt exactly right with my newer Magnaflow H pipe.

Also it looks like the flow tubes on the front of your mufflers are clocked the wrong way.

No, it's not custom. The flow tubes are the way they are b/c they are too close to the driveshaft for comfort for me any other way. I'm going to loosen it all up & retighten again this weekend

Those aren't headers, those are the flow tubes to the mufflers. Those are almost straight on all my Mustangs. Those look pretty bent downward. If those were straight, it would bring the X-pipe up.

looked like it was from the front of the car, which is why headers came to mind. all the mustangs i've seen are pretty straight into the muffler...something definately isnt right!
