$775 for an install including all parts for a set of 4.10's and an o/r x?

I figure the gears are like 180 the work on that is like 400, so the x they must be charging like 200 for.

I didnt get an exact run down on the quote cause I had to run but thats what I am guessing. To me, that kinda seems a little steep. What do you all think?

i have been quoted around $600 for just the gear swap, so i would think that that price is comparable to my experiences.

a typical O/R X would cost about $200 or more anyway...my pypes O/R H was around $170 IIRC. install takes about an hour. but, i would install the X pipe yourself and save the coin.

i got my gears installed for $200, including lube and shims, and the X pipe should not even be over $100. In all reality, if you have about an hours worth of free time and the right basic hand-tools, you should really be able to install the x-pipe yourself.

considering most shop labor rates are at or near $100/hr, i dont think MOST people can get that deal. personally, i found someone to install them for as little as $125. if you can get a connection, then you pay less. if you go through a shop and pay retail, those prices are in line with reality.

Unless you know the person doing the work - expect to pay a decent amount for a gear install that doesn't whine after it's all said and done.

400 - 600 seems about average for a simple swap
