I am going turbo kit in my 93 stang in a few months. I know my stock t5 aint gonna do it. So, I have the ability to get a rebuilt z-spec t5. It's 1100.00 and that includes the take out and install. Will this hold up to a 8-10 psi stock engine? And how is the price? Thanx

I have a feeling that it won't hold up. The Z is only rated to 330 from the WC's 300. It really depends on your traction and how you drive it but I wouldn't want to spend a grand on something that I(knowing me) would beat on. If you are on a tight budget I would look for a used(not beaten) TKO-3550. They can be found for a reasonable price compared to the tko 500/600. With the 3550 you will need a different bellhousing and crossmember... not sure about the driveshaft yoke...

May want to look at a stronger gearset to rebuild the t-5 with. At that point, you'll have tko500 money in a t-5 though. The upside is you won't need a different clutch, bellhousing, crossmember, etc. I love the way the t-5 shifts, so I'm going to do everything in my power to keep it, even if that means spending too much money on a performance gearset.

With a turbo I believe they like a little resistance. The gear ratio from the TKO600 might be a better choice... that is if you are planning on getting a new transmission. For everything to install my TKO600 it costed me about 2500 to my door.
