How the heck can they sell it for this much and have me still want one... $185!!!!

I was wondering if anyone ever did a pvc CAI? I want to do a high flow one, like the jlt(is it plastic?) and use a couple pvc pipes and hose clamps and black glossy paint and viola, a power pipe... Will it work just as well if I do all the same bends?

ive seen a couple jlt's, an there built very good. looks like pvc to me but smooth as hell on the inside an perfect fit. i guess you could make one yourself but it wouldnt be painted all nice an be a perfect fit. it would prolly take you awhile to make. jlt's are known for hp increase cuz there not like all the other ones like bbk, mac, and whatnot cuz there not metal, which equals colder air goin into the motor.

**** THAT!!!!! many more options out there than that for $185! unless that's including the maf housing! you could do that yourself out of pvc, or even get some metal tubing and get it bent at a shop would be cheaper. i've ran a pipe bender at a shop i worked at and something like that would be free if you came in and asked for a couple 90* bends.... so easy!

I bought a cold side kit for my turbo setup off ebay for $100. Brand new, comes with a ton of 2-1/2 or 3" aluminum piping in a bunch of different bends in black or silver, all the couplers in any color, and t-bolt clamps. Buy one of those kits, make your own and clamp a filter on the end. Then you'll have enough pipe to make about 5 more and sell them on ebay for $50 a piece.
