I have a 94 GT it has 170,xxx on the motor. has bbk cold air, bbk long tubes, and smog pump delete kit on it. having some runing issues, when i first start it up when its cold it barely wants to run even if I give it a few to warm up still tries to die on me. even after I get it runnin down the road it feels like it has a bad miss in it. through the shifter you can feel the vibration from the motor. occasionally it will all of the sudden start running real good it will almost jerk when it happens for the sudden increase in power! I just tuned it up fresh plugs wires cap rotor oil change. no difference at all. when I went to clean my air filter there was a bit of oil in the intake tube. when I give it the gas sometimes it does pop and backfire, but i cant tell where its comming from the intake or exhaust. Also I did notice that a few of my plugs where really gray almost white from running lean im guessing. I know my way around a motor pretty well just stumped on this one if anyone could give me a hand on this one i would realy appritiate it. thanks jake

Have you cleaned the MAF sensor element? Remove and spray with electrical contact or non-chlorinated brake cleaner. A dirty MAF is quite often the source of many idling/running issues.

From what I've read here, it's the longtubes. The O2 sensors are not where the computer thinks they are, I think they're too far awya and don't heat up enough. Basically, you need a proper tune for the longtubes.

see I would agree with you on this issue but its never ran like this untill this point and time. those headers have been on there for 3 years and never had this problem. I would love to have my car tuned but the nearist shop to me is about 200miles one way(any repitible shops atleast) but may have to consider.

Have you pulled codes yet?

ive tried pulling the codes but they show up diffrent everytime i pull them. once the o2s are lean once rich then they show one of each. sometimes i get a fan code. sometimes ill get a cylinder code as well. but its never the same cylinder eather. Im really tryin here and ive never see a problem like this one.

Pull the codes again and post up the numbers you get. If you run a cylinder balance test, post up the results.

You have enough issues going on that getting the codes fixed first is going to be the only way to narrow it down.

possibly a clogged fuel filter. its cheap and easy to replace. Also I had misfire on mine when my spark plug boot was arcing with my headers, I had to replace wires. Check for burnt boots.

havent checked my fuel filter in a while. replaced it a while back might give that a shot. my plugwires are good i put the wire retainer clips on the block to hold them away from everything.
