Ok...went auto crossing this weekend and two days of constant 6500 rpm revving (in 2nd gear) I blew out the seal on the back of the intake manifold. It's not too bad but at high rpm's it shoots oil onto the bell housing and back to the cats. Before this happend I used to pop up the pcv valve and get oil all over the hood and firewall at high rpm's. I figured it wasnt a snug enough fit so I wrapped electrical tape around the valve to get a snug fit in the grommet and it didn't pop up anymore. But then my dip stick would pop up and shoot oil all over the drivers side header and make a mess. Similar fix on that one and after that the car ran fine (not much high revving)...until this weekend. I'm guessing with all that abuse and the dip stick and pcv avenue's cut off....the crank case pressure blew the rear seal out. Any ideas as to why this is happening (the excessive crank case pressure)...oh and I dont want to hear that its the rings...the motor has only 6-8k miles on it so far. Any ideas, suggestions, and personal experiences would be really helpful right now. I know stock motors made power only up to 4500 rpms and this is where my problem starts. I guess ford never needed to fix this problem if it is a common occurance. Thanks for the replies guyz. :nice:

in something like an autoX situation, i would not mind running a breather - the unmetered air is not gonna matter much with the sustained high rpm driving. then toss the PCV for daily driving.

or run a scavenging pump.

good luck.

Just plug the hose leading to the oil filler neck on the valve cover and replace the oil cap with a breather. Cars would come with factory breathers if it wasn't for emissions. You have to get rid of those gases being pumped into the crankcase.

Will a breather on the PVC help with pressure in the engine valley? I'm not worried about unmetered air cuz I'm sure theres plenty of positive pressure in the crankcase at everything but idle. And emissions isn't for another 2 years so I'm good there. Any other possible suggestions? Keep em coming guyz....

Definately put a breather on and see wehat happens.

BTW. Dont want to call if your in class robin. I got the notch I told you about. I got a thread gion in the 94-95 section about it. Check it out.

You never told me about a notch DAN.... If I didn't like the looks of the sn95's and didn't care about all my power amenities I'd pe pretty jealous right now. :D I.ve always wanted one of those or an SVO to road race. I love light cars. :p I'll give you a call tomorrow "if you even read this tonight." Oh and it turns out that my TPS was pinching the hose from the airbox to the VC. Before I get a breather I'm gonna try rerouting that so it actually has some flow. If that does not get rid of the problem completely I will put on a breather.
