yeah, gonna sell the stang.

had a little breaky-wakey last night after a car show up in corpus christi, tx. before bed time, i went to gas up the stang so i wouldn't have to do it in the morning before coming bakc home. i pulled in to a store and as i was getting off i got a weird vibe, so i decided to head over to the store across the street. i looked over to my left and right--no cars coming, so i go for it. all of a sudden, BBBOOOOMMM, i ran over the median--a huge chunk of concrete that ran along for about 100 feet. i wasn't going fast at all, nor did i even see it... i'm alright, mostly just in shock, but the side skirts and rear bumper are
cracked, so they'll need reparing/replacing. no other damage, thankfully. i could've sworn i busted a tire or something, but i'm glad it's just cracked urethane and nothing else. long story short, i'm replacing the pieces w/ new ones + new paint, rebuild tranny, and gonna get a new-edge and sell this one.

it's great, love the 5.0, but i'm done w/ this project. hoping i can pick up a 99-04 for cheap or something. i really need something more reliable (lots of things here and there that need fixing/replacing). i'm still in school, in my last year, and i can't justify putting money to repair an older car when i can get a newer one for the same amount of money.

friend's dad is hooking me up--he's got a dealer license so we're hitting up an auction. plan is to buy the new car very soon while fixing this one and selling it. good thing is i should make a little more than 500 than what i've put into the car, along w/ swapping rims so i keep my dd's!

i'm sticking around here for sure, though. lots of great guys in this little corner of the web.

comments/suggestions welcome.

dude i would of never thought this would come any time soon, I have pondered the idea of a 99+ but I would know id miss my car deeply since ive done so much to it, yet it doesnt need anything. sorry to hear about that man, thats too bad sorry to hear about the incident.

Im still not clear what happend, you had a bad vibe as in heard somthing acting up on the car so you pulled across the street, stopped then gunned it and didnt notice the median? Sorry just trying to figure out what happend.

Too bad your sellin it though such a sweet car

Why don't you keep it and also get a 99+. Or give me your old car. I'll fix it up. I want the DDs though.

hehe, thanks guys.

the bad vibe i got from these two fools who parked their car as if they were about to rob the joint, so i thought it'd probably be better to go to the nicer, well-lit store across the street.

but yeah, i'm not happy w/ my interior and a few other things that come from wear-and-tear and age. the suspension needs definate upgrading, i wanted to swap to a 99+ interior, but putting even more money into an older car seems impractical to me right now in my current economic state (poor college student). the fact that my friend's dad is gonna buy me a newer car for the same, if not less than i will get for my car, at an auction seems way more practical.

i really wish i could afford a second vehicle, but i honestly can't. i'd love to keep this car and turn it into the beast i know it could be and have the luxury of branding it a fun/weekend car, but i really should do what is more pragmatic (...as if getting a 99+ GT, cobra, or mach is, hehehehe). a couple weeks ago, buddy's dad saw a 03 cobra go for 3500, and an 02 vette for 3000.

hope that clears up some.

w/ the rear bumper/side skirt repaired and w/ the tranny rebuild, i'm gonna start at 7000 with the current rims and 6500 with rims from the new-edge (whatever it comes with--probably 5-spoke gt's or 17x8 bullitts). if i were to sell the way it sits now, i'd take 5500.

Paul, auction cars are always a risk. How do you know that the car you get at an auction isn't going to have more problems than the ones you already have. It might look good but you don't get to drive it and the car only stays on for about 10min for the bids and then is driven off. I don't know, this problem that you're having was caused by a moment of blindness. It's not the car's fault the skirts and rear bumper cracked. It was an accident and leave it at that. Don't sell it man, you'll regret it. IMHO, I really don't think you're going to get that much for the car that's why I haven't sold mine. It's pretty hard to get what you put into a car. Especially now that it's 12 years old.

Well, look at it like this. Is a 1994 Ford Mustang what you REALLY want, or do you really want something newer? It all depends on what you like. If you're going to go with something newer just because it's newer, you won't be happy too long. Personally, I've had 4 mustangs, and every time I sold one I told myself I wasn't going to buy another one, and yet, I did. The things that your car NEEDS are minor things. The WANTS are killing you.

well when i first got this one, it was all i could afford at that time. had i more money, i would've gone w/ a 99+. now i have some money and a pretty good opportunity to pick one up.

You = NTW. Where is Ram000? We want him back, lol.

J/K man. I hope everything goes well in your decision making. But if I were able to influence you ... I'd say keep the '94!!!

i'm on the fence. i had a 01 gt and it was really sweet. i was really bummed when it was totaled.

put in an intercooled k/b, some springs, and some 18x10s on the back on one of those 99+ ponies and you are done. nuff said.

don't get me wrong ... i love my 95, but i have a list of what seems like 50 things (mostly from wear and tear) i need to do to it to make it the way i want it. sometimes i feel like just buying a car that isn't so worn out so i could just enjoy it and not have to have all the work hanging over my head not getting done.

that is EXACTLY how i feel!!!11

now, i guess what i'll do is go to a couple auctions and see what's there. if i come upon something good, i'll get it and then sell the 94 to pay off the loan. if it ain't meant to be, fok it, guess i'll keep the 94.

everytime ive sold a mustang, i always came crawling back to a 94-95 5.0 Had 14 mustangs now, and i always end up where i started. but thats just me, and my car is only a weekend fun toy, not a dd. so you gotta do what you think is right. screw the 99's, go for a slightly used 05, if you can find one

well it all depends on what i come accross at the auction. not looking to spend any more than what i'll get for my car, so 5k is around my limit.
