Its gone..

It's just a car ... get another. When you say the insurance dropped you -- you mean after the wreck, right? I don't think they can drop you in response to a wreck and then refuse to pay up. What kinda coverage did you have?

Dave

Wow. Did she do all this without your knowledge?

Did the insurance company settle the claim before dropping you? I have Progressive, I'm happy with them.

Seems to me your sister and her boyfriend owe you big time.

its possible depending on the type of coverege...you can get plans where only certain people can drive the car, and if some random guy wrecks the car they may not be liable to cover the damage...

yeah dude. i have this thing where im the only one insured under my car. someone else decides to smash it into a wall, im ass out.

Hairy: those are some pretty odd words "its just a car". granted you are 120% correct, it seems that to this crowd, its a little more than that. it can be replaced, but our cars mean a whole lot to us.

see, i had a 1995 V6 mustang and i would let anyone that i was cool with drive, but one day my brother came by my house and asked to borrow my car and he was going to go pick up his girlfriend. on the way he was reaching into the back seat looking for a cigarette. i had some empty boxes in the backseat. he said that he looked back up and a light pole was in his path so he hit the brakes and slid and hit the light pole on the passenger side. he deployed both of the airbags and bent the frame. it was totaled and my insurance had just expired. 105 days later i bought the car that is in my avatar cash. i went over my cousin house an hour after i purchased the car to show him what i bought. i gave him the keys and told him to take it for a spend. he got in the car , cranked it, backed out and punched it so hard that it was uncontrolable. he ran the front wheel right in the ditch. he was able to back it out. you should have seen the look on my face, cause he kept driven it up the road punching on it! i was in shock until he brung it back unscaved. i didn't even have insurance yet, cause i bought the car on a friday evening after closing time. so since feb. 1, 2002 at 8:30 p.m. i haven't let anyboby drive my stang! not trying to still your thread, but it is important that you and everyone else not letting anyboby drive your stang, cause they know the power that a mustang have. but what they need to know is:
WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILTY!

I have felt your pain. I had a beautiful new Blue/Tan 2001 GT Vert with all the options that was totaled when a 16 yr old girl turned across traffic in front of me. It all happened in about 5 seconds. Going to the get my stuff out of the car after they told me it was totaled and knowing that I would never see it again was one of the most depressing days of my life.

Wow...I can't even comprehend that.

In five years of ownership, I've only let my two best friends drive my car, and I was in the car at that time. They have also let me drive their cars (5.0 Mustang and LS1 TA).

I can't tell you how many times I"ve declined requests to have people drive my car. Not even my Dad or Brother have driven it. I kindof just laugh.

Sound like 2 people owe you another car or some $$$ to compensate for all the $$ it will take to get another one insured.

I feel for you bro and I may say that this is..

Does he have a car? I know 2 wrongs dont make a right but in this case it only seems fair. #1. He either pays you back for what you lost or #2. You bust the windows out of his car, smash in the headlights and kick in the fenders and then beat the $hit out of him.

That does seem fair

But either way, that sucks for you man :nonono:

Sorry dude. That's just wrong. Hope you can get a new Mustang. And, I would suggest not letting anyone, even family, take your ride ever again. There are times that I don't even like the wife to take out the Stang. But, I know that she's insured and that she would let me get another if anything happened when she drove it.

I feel sick man. I've let 3 people drive my car, my dad, my uncle, and my gf ONCE. She proceeded to grind 3 gears while going "wow this is different then my Jetta." Now 2 people drive my car.

The least he can do is let you drive his car till he buys you a replacement.
