Alright i posted before about missing on a cylinder...and so i put everything back togeather...started it up, it idles...so i pull a plug wire off....no difference...long story short...i pulled off 6 plug wires...at once...i left only the 1 and 5 on...its idleing on 2 cylinders....its reving up and everything...i mean i pulled the wires off the dristibutor and everything...what the hell...how do i solve this one? if anyone can figure this one out your a god :hail2: ...everyone i asked said it is impossible to run a v8 on 2 cylinders... :damnit:

replaced distributor, wires, plugs, car, rotor, and put a timing liught on it...where do i go next...please help me i miss my ride!!!

Dieseling normally requires a glowing plug or glowing carbon build up, which requires a hot ignition to get to that point in the first place (why dieseling often happens only on hot motors).
If the cylinder is not firing, it does not get all that hot (relatively speaking).

I cant see how a motor can idle purely on two cylinders, but.....

Have you done a cylinder balance test? It is part of the self diagnostics and since the car idles, you can do it. It will confirm which cylinders are not helping (not doing anything).

If you have spark, are you sure you have injector pulsing on the bad cylinders? A noid light can be used to verify that you have a juice making it to each injector (12 volts is key-on constant, and the puter pulses the ground to each injector).

Go from there.

Good luck.
